Searching for a Home
Describe what you want in plain English, or use traditional filters. Every active listing is shown — nothing hidden behind a paywall.
The search bar
The search bar on the homepage accepts plain English descriptions. You don't have to describe homes in formal real estate terms. Try searches like:
- "3-bedroom house with a big backyard near good schools"
- "Condo under $400k with a pool and city views"
- "Ranch-style home with an open floor plan and no HOA"
- "Fixer-upper in Austin with at least 1,500 sqft"
The search reads what you wrote and matches it against listing features, descriptions, and location data. You'll see results ranked by how closely they match — not by which agent paid more for placement.
Tip: More specific searches return more useful results. "House" is harder to match than "4-bedroom house in Cedar Park under $550k."
Using filters
If you prefer traditional search filters, click Use traditional filters below the search bar, or go directly to the search page. You can filter by:
- City or zip code — narrow results to a specific area.
- Price range — minimum and maximum list price.
- Bedrooms — minimum bedroom count.
- Bathrooms — minimum full bathroom count.
- Property type — single family, condo, townhouse, land, multi-family, commercial.
Filters and plain-English search can be combined. You might describe what you want in plain English and then add a max price filter to constrain the results.

Browsing by city
If you're early in your search and not ready to use specific filters, city browse pages let you see all active listings in a given city or metro area. Look for Browse by city links on the homepage or navigate directly to /browse/{city-name}.
City browse pages show all active listings sorted by most recent. They update automatically as new listings are added.
Reading search results
Each result card shows:
- The primary listing photo.
- List price.
- Address (city and state).
- Beds, baths, and square footage.
Click any card to open the full listing detail page with photos, complete specs, and the agent's contact panel.
Click the ♡ on any card to save it to your favorites. If you're not logged in, favorites are saved for your current browser session. Create a free account to keep them permanently.
What if I don't see what I'm looking for?
If your search returns few or no results, try:
- Broadening the price range or removing a filter.
- Expanding to a neighboring city or a wider zip code area.
- Saving your search and turning on email alerts — new listings matching your criteria will be sent to you as they're added.
- Contacting an agent directly. They have access to pre-market and coming-soon listings that may not yet be on the portal.
